This cutie with the suspenders is the great Angela Giampolo - who may be one of the few people I know who is as short as I am. Giampolo is the founder of PhillyGayLawyer, an attorney and advocate for the LGBT community and strong supporter of civil rights for all people. I first met Angela through one of my interns who produced a segment on my show on the rights of transgendered people. I was immediately struck by her passion and huge personality. So I now have Angela guest hosting pieces for my public affairs shows on LGBT issues. Her latest is a great interview with the first openly gay member of the Pennsylvania Legislature - State Representative Brian Sims. It’s clear that although LGBT issues are important to Sims – he represents his constituency on issues that affect his entire district. Check out the interview.
By the way - Gallop - Gay and Lesbian Lawyers of Philadelphia is proudly celebrating 25 years of Representation, Visibility, and Advocacy within the legal profession with a "Gay Back in the Day" Anniversary Party! I'm not gay, (not that I care if you care) but I am an ally ;)
